Throughout the different periods of Islamic History, Muslims have been
blessed with great personalities and leaders, who have revived Islam
through the nobility of their character, through writing books, through
their speeches and by their demeanour. This period is no different
save for the fact that these personalities appear to be few and far
between. In Rais al-Muhaqiqin, Shaykh al-Islam w'al Muslimeen, Hadrat
Allama Mufti Pir Sayyad Shah Muhammad Madani miya al-Ashrafi al-Jilani [May Allah
preserve & protect him] we have an awesome personality, an outstanding orator, and a
true living saint. To increase our understanding of Shaykh al Islam, a brief summary of his
early life, his works and achievements have been set out in a few of the pages of this
website. The website will be continuously updated as more information is resourced and

Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem ASALATU WASALAMU ALAYKA YA RASULLALLAH COMPILATION OF 'SAYYID UT-TAFASIR' [EXEGESIS] OF THE NOBLE QUR'AN AL-KAREEM by Ra'ees 'al-Muhaqqiqin, Hadrat Shaykh 'al-Islam w'al-Muslimeen, 'Allama Pir Sayyad M. Madani Miya, Ashrafi al-Jilani ‘quddisa sirrahu'l-'aziz’ At a time when we constantly are thrusted with bad news and with the future for the Muslims on a religious, spiritual, social and political aspect looking ever so bleak, Allah, The Most Gracious, has blessed the Ahl as-Sunnah w'al-Jama'ah with news that one of the most revered and respected scholars of our time, Hadrat Shaykh al-Islam w'al-Muslimeen has begun compiling a 'Tafsir'; commentary and explanation of the Blessed Islamic Sacred Book, the Noble Qur'an al-Kareem. Though there are many Tafasir (pl.of tafsir) of the Blessed Qur'an available in the market from the earliest of time to the present day, many require a deep rooted intellectual understanding of the glossary of terms and terminology. 'Hadrat' Shaykh al-Islam's work will be both concise and succinct and written in an intelligible & comprehensible urdu language primarily with the common man in mind. InshaAllah, the intention is for the future English version to reflect this motion as well. Anas bin Maalik, Allah be well pleased with him, narrated that the Beloved Prophet, Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa sallam, said: "Make things easy for the people, and do not make it difficult for them, and make them calm (with glad tidings) and do not repulse (them).” [Al- Bukhari] A few years ago when 'Hadrat' drastically reduced the number of lectures they had previously been delivering, a mammoth gap was felt in the hearts and lives of the sunni masses. As it had become an expected and normal custom for Hadrat to tour various parts of the world for propagation means ever since the very early seventies. Hadrat's unique method of deliberation, eloquence, logical examples and oratory fluency and passion was described and promoted by senior contemporary Scholars as the most influential in terms of installing the true doctrines and beliefs of the Ahl as-Sunnah w'al Jama'ah in the hearts of Muslims. Though Hadrat's age and health was a deciding factor for the dramatic reduction of lectures the Muslims were still at odds with themselves unable to undertstand or accept Hadrat's decision due to their immense popularity & adoration but today the news of Hadrat's commitment & endeavor to complete the major task of theTafsir will certainly heal the wounds for many devotees throughout the world.
